Reflection on learning from film magazine front covers with links to own film magazine front covers

What I have learnt from film magazine front covers is that they have a main background image and then the text is spread out around them so that the background image/ actors are not covered by text.

The actors are usually well known and create star appeal which means that more people will want to read this magazine just because of the actor who is on the front cover.
Brad Pitt - Empire Magazine [United Kingdom] (April 1994)
The title also needs to be in a large font so that it stands out from the rest of the text.

The colour scheme needs to be professional and match the background image as it will create a consistent house style throughout the front cover. I also need to make sure that I include some main features of the magazine on the front cover as some of these features e.g. competitions make people want to buy and read the magazine just to see what they can win.
