What is the difference between a trailer and a teaser?

A teaser is specifically designed to tease which will be showing more cinematic parts rather than sections of the film itself and this is because these are usually released just after the idea has been created and this is usually what is presented to organisations to try and get extra funding to fund the film.

There is then a teaser trailer which is a smaller version of the trailer itself and it is mainly intended to attract an audience to find out more information about this movie and the most important part of this is that it will show the release date which will mean that people will know an average date of when the movie will be released. It can also build up suspense until the full trailer comes out.

Then there is the full trailer which is released and this will show the plot of the film and it provides plenty of detail about the genre of the film and this is the main focus and it will decide whether they will enjoy this film or not.

The main difference is that the trailer gives a proper insight into what will be in the film and what genre the film will be categorised into whereas the teaser may just give a general overview of it.
